The AF180FG features a compact, well-balanced design, making it an ideal match for RICOH and PENTAX digital cameras compatible with P-TTL, including PENTAX DSLRs and the RICOH GR series. With 18 strategically placed seals, including the hotshoe, it boasts a highly reliable dustproof and weather-resistant construction. When combined with a weather-sealed DSLR body and lens, it delivers dependable performance even in challenging outdoor environments, such as rain or dust.

Bounce flash function up to a 135-degree tilt angle

The flash head offers 10 vertical angle adjustments (-10, 0, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, and 135 degrees) for versatile bounce-flash operation. Bouncing the flash off a ceiling or wall during indoor shoots helps soften shadows, creating more natural and lifelike portraits.

Simplified, dial-access operation

The AF180FG features a user-friendly operating system that allows instant flash photography by simply turning the discharge mode dial, which doubles as the ON/OFF switch. In addition to the OFF position, the dial offers four discharge modes: P-TTL auto flash with leading-curtain synchronization and P-TTL auto flash with trailing-curtain synchronization, both of which use the camera’s light sensor to detect the flash’s preliminary emission and ensure accurate exposure control. The manual flash modes include full discharge and 1/4-level discharge options for greater control.
