New PENTAX 17 compact film camera.

The new PENTAX 17 is a compact film camera that blends classic photography charm with modern innovation. Every feature is designed to deliver a unique shooting experience, perfect for both beginners and expert photographers. The PENTAX 17 offers the distinctive image quality unique to film cameras, featuring manual operations like a selectable zone-focus system, manual film winding, manual film advance lever, and dials for exposure compensation and ISO sensitivity adjustments. Its retro-inspired design includes top and bottom covers made of lightweight yet solid magnesium alloy, enhancing the camera body's rigidity.

Double the Shots with Half-Frame Format

The PENTAX 17, as a half-frame camera, captures two 17mm x 24mm images within a single 35mm format (36mm x 24mm) film frame. This doubles the number of photos per roll and produces vertical images similar to those taken on a smartphone.

Choose Your Focus

This new film camera features several manual operations to ensure photographers maintain full control. Among these is a selectable zone-focus system, allowing users to choose different zones or distances to focus on.

Manual Film Winding and Advance Lever

Owning a film camera like the PENTAX 17 means agreeing to manually wind the film to the next frame after each photo, and the PENTAX 17 provides a lever for just that. Combining classic camera style with modern innovation, it features a newly developed 25mm F3.5 lens, equivalent to a 37mm lens in the 35mm format, treated with High-Definition coating to ensure clarity and sharpness.

Albada-type Optical Viewfinder

The PENTAX 17 features an Albada-type bright frame finder with a close-up visual field compensation frame for more accurate composition of close-up shots. It also automatically adjusts exposure settings based on lighting data, making it more advanced than many manual-only vintage cameras. This combination of automatic and manual features makes the PENTAX 17 user-friendly for newcomers while offering versatility for experienced photographers.

Seven Shooting Modes

The PENTAX 17 camera offers seven shooting modes, including Full Auto, Slow-Speed Sync, Bulb, Bokeh, Flash, AUTO, and Program Mode, allowing you to effortlessly switch between modes to match your style. Additionally, it supports a wide selection of ISO film speeds ranging from 50 to 3200.

Built to Last

Despite its vintage look, the PENTAX 17 features solid magnesium alloy top and bottom covers for enhanced durability, making it the perfect companion for any adventure. Additionally, the back cover includes a convenient note holder, ideal for storing the end of the film package and serving as a quick reference to the type of film currently in use.

Three Attachment Points for Straps

The PENTAX 17 offers versatile carrying options with three strap lugs, allowing it to be carried both horizontally and vertically. Additionally, it is compatible with the CS-205 Cable Switch, an optional accessory perfect for extended-exposure photography in Bulb mode, providing greater creative control.
