The Panasonic Lumix 18-40mm f/4.5-6.3 Lens, weighing just 5.5 oz and measuring 1.6" long, is the world's smallest and lightest full-frame zoom lens, offering high resolution across the entire frame. Its unique zoom range makes it a versatile, carry-around option for capturing landscapes, architecture, and snapshots with a natural perspective, while also providing a subtle bokeh effect at its maximum aperture and minimum focusing distance of 5.9". The lens achieves sharpness and a compact form through its optical design, which includes three aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements, and one ultra-high refractive element. Paired with the Lumix S9’s Hybrid Zoom function, the lens extends its zoom range to 18-120mm and supports video by minimizing focus breathing. Built for portability and tough environments, it is dust, splash, and freeze-resistant, with a fluorine-coated front element to repel water, oil, and debris. |
