The PENTAX WG-1000 features a dependable all-weather body, designed to be waterproof down to a depth of 15 meters for up to one hour of continuous operation, dustproof against dirt and stains, and shockproof against falls from a height of two meters. It boasts an IPX8 rating for waterproofing (JIS Class 8), an IP6X rating for dustproofing (JIS Class 6), and has been tested under RICOH IMAGING-original standards to withstand a drop from two meters onto a 5-cm thick plywood surface.

Sharp, clear images

The WG-1000 is equipped with a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor that boasts approximately 16.35 effective megapixels, ensuring exceptional light reception efficiency for sharp, clear, high-resolution images. Despite its compact and lightweight design, it features a four-times optical zoom lens with a focal length range of 4.9 mm to 19.6 mm (equivalent to approximately 27 mm to 108 mm in the 35mm format), making it versatile for various applications. Additionally, its Digital Zoom function allows the zoom range to be extended by approximately 24 times.

A choice of seven capture modes

The WG-1000 offers seven distinctive capture modes, including Auto Picture, which automatically detects the scene or subject and selects the optimal shooting mode; Manual, allowing you to manually set the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO sensitivity; Underwater, which accurately reproduces the true colors of the underwater world by reducing the bluish color cast; and Scene, which provides 18 different scene modes to choose from for the perfect shot.

A selection of Color modes to personalize the visual expressions

The WG-1000 offers 20 Color modes to give your images the perfect finishing touch. Alongside traditional Black and White and Sepia modes, it includes creative options such as Japan Style, which enhances bluish hues; Italian Style, which enhances greenish hues; French Style, which enhances reddish hues; Negative, which mimics the look of negative film; and Sketch, which adds a drawing-like effect. This feature allows you to apply the desired finishing touch to your image either before or after shooting.

Full HD Movie recording

The WG-1000 offers various movie recording modes, including Full HD Movie at 30 frames per second and High Speed Movie* for capturing slow-motion footage at 640 x 480 pixels and 120 frames per second. It also features a convenient Movie button for instant recording. * High Speed Movie mode has a maximum recording duration of 30 seconds and a playback duration of two minutes, with no audio recording available.

Interval Shooting

The WG-1000’s Interval Shooting function lets you automatically capture a series of images at a fixed interval. You can choose the desired interval setting from 30 seconds, one minute, five minutes, or 10 minutes.

Versatile self-timer

The WG-1000’s self-timer provides three options: two-second delay, 10-second delay, and Self-timer Smile, which automatically releases the shutter when the camera detects a smiling face.
