This hybrid lens includes a video-optimized Voice Coil Motor (VCM) rear focus system with Nano USM for precise, near-silent autofocus. A dedicated manual iris ring and AF/MF switch provide enhanced control and quick adjustments. Part of the durable L-series, the lens is weather-resistant, offering protection against dust and moisture for reliable performance in challenging environments.

Optical Design

This lens features two ultra-low dispersion elements and one aspherical element, enhancing image quality while reducing chromatic aberrations. To significantly minimize ghosting and flare, Canon has applied a suite of coatings, including ASC (Air Sphere Coating), SSC (Super Spectra Coating), SWC (Sub Wavelength Coating), and a protective Fluorine coating, ensuring clear and vibrant results in various lighting conditions.
