ADVANCED EYE CONTROL AF

To enhance the speed of your active AF Area positioning, the R1 features Canon’s Eye Control AF, which is even more advanced than that in the EOS R3. After calibrating the viewfinder to your eye, simply look at your desired focus point, and the AF Area will shift there when you press the AF activation button. This new system is also robust enough to function effectively for users wearing glasses.

CROSS-TYPE AF

Action priority enables the camera to track specific people, balls, movement, and eye-control AF, ensuring you capture the perfect action shot even in fast-paced scenes. Works with three sports at the moment: soccer, volleyball, and basketball.

INCREDIBLE PROCESSING SPEED

Processes large volumes of data directly from the image sensor for tasks such as AF detection and exposure metering calculations, enabling eye-control focus, subject identification, and tracking.
